AB Latex Paint
Description
AB Latex Paint is water based acrylic emulsion anti-bacterial paint.
Recommended Uses
As a semi-gloss finishing coat designed mainly for the protection of walls and ceilings from the growth of bacteria, fungi, and algae in damp and humid environments. Typical uses are in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, restaurants, schools, hotels, and in all areas where a high level of hygiene is required.
Features
-Resists the growth of many types of bacteria, fungi, and algae in damp and humid environments.
-Excellent resistance to water and saponification.
-Highly resistant to the effects of ultra-violet light and weathering.
-Excellent washability.
-Short drying times, reducing overcoating times considerably.
-Low odor (makes it easy to use and to apply in confined areas).
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Suitable brush, roller or airless spray.
• Mixing : Stir well before application in order to ensure that a uniform consistency is achieved.
• Thinner / Cleaner : Water is used for thinning or cleaning. Mixing ratio with water depends on method of application. No dilution is required when airless spray is used at 20°C, other method of application (brush or roller) will need approx. 30-35% dilution to reach 35 seconds by cup No. 4.
• Application Temperature : 10-40?C.
• Note : When recoating, a special attention should be given toward drying times.

• Water resistance : Excellent.
• Washability : Excellent.
• Abrasian Resistance : Good.
• Number of Coats : 1-2
• Packaging : 3.6L in US Gallon or 20 Kg in plastic pail.
Surface Preparation
Coating performance is, in general, proportional to the degree of surface preparation. Surface must be clean, undamaged and free of oil, grease and other contaminants prior to coating.

It is recommended to apply AB Latex Paint over WT05“undercoat” (refer to its technical leaflet).

Prepare surface in accordance with application instructions for the suitable undercoat being used (WT05). WT05 should be left to achieve a tack-free condition prior to applying AB Latex Paint. Be sure WT05 is clean, dry and free of oil, grease and other contaminants when AB Latex Paint is applied.

Do not apply AB Latex Paint to existing coatings (oil-based or water-based) without further surface preparation such as cleaning, abrading and leveling the surface with “WT03” if required, and applying
a suitable undercoat “WT05”.

Notes:

1-New concrete should be left 28 days to cure before coating.

2-Moisture content of concrete should be below 6% before coating.
Drying Time
• Dry to Touch : 20 minutes (ASTM-D1640).
• Dry to Handle : 1 hour “minimum recoat time” (ASTM-D1640).
• Note : -Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and coat thickness. -Higher temperatures will shorten the drying times.
Storing Conditions
-AB Latex Paint must not be allowed to come into contact with metals that are likely to corrode. Containers must be kept tightly closed. Exposure to strong heat and frost must be avoided.

-Shelf life is two years from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed.

Safety:
Avoid skin or eye contact. Prolonged contact may cause irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.
