RUST CONVERT
Description
Rust-Convert is a one component water base film forming material that converts tightly adherent rust into a non-rusting black film.
Recommended Uses
auto rust repair, decorative gates, guard rails, machinery, garden tools, outdoor signs and dishes support, frame work, pipes and tanks exterior, … and in all surfaces not accessible for blast cleaning.

Notes:

-There must be rust present on the surface to be primed or the rust conversion process will not occur. If Rust-Convert turns black, usually within 30 minutes, the conversion process was successful and a topcoat can be applied in 4 to 6 hours.

-If Rust-Convert does not turn black, allow a minimum of 24 hours dry time before topcoating may occur.

-Not recommended for permanent immersion in fresh or salt water.

-Do not use zinc-rich primers over Rust-Convert.

-Staining may appear if water based or light coloured primers or top-coats are used.
Features
• One coat application is sufficient to convert adherent rust into a non-rusting black film and to provide corrosion protection against new rust forming, but for best results it is recommended to apply two thin coats.
• Easy to use.
• May be applied to damp but not wet surfaces.
• Provides a tough and flexible film.
• May be topcoated with latex, alkyd, urethane or epoxy finishes.
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Brush, roller, or dipping.
• Thinner / Cleaner : Do not thin. Clean applying tools by water.
• Application Temperature : 5-30?C.
Technical Information
• Number of Coats : 1- 2, apply the 2nd coat within 20-30 minutes in a cross direction to the previous one. Allow to dry for 24 hrs.
• Packaging : 1L in plastic bottle.
Surface Preparation
Remove loose rust, failing paint, dust, dirt, etc.; If there is oil or grease on the surface, remove these contaminates by washing the surface.

Storing Conditions
-Rust-Convert has to be kept in a cool and well-ventilated place, protected from heat and direct sunlight.

-Shelf life is at least one year from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed.

Safety:

-Corrosive, contains phosphoric acid.

-Well-ventilated conditions should be provided during application.

-Do not breathe or inhale mist.

-Wear air mask and avoid skin or eye contact
