Primer/under coat (E5)
Description
Water reducible air drying alkyd primer/undercoat.
Recommended Uses
General-purpose primer/undercoat for wood and concrete substrates.
Features
• Easy to apply.
• Short drying times.
• Suitable to be applied in confined areas, no harmful vapors and scents are present.
• Good flow properties.
• Excellent adhesion and filling properties.
• Excellent flexibility.
• Reduce absorption of finishing coat and improve color recovering when used as undercoat.
• Suitable to be topcoated by water-based or oil-based paints.
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Brush, roller, or air spray.
• Mixing : Stir well before application in order to ensure that a uniform consistency is achieved.
• Thinner / Cleaner : Water is used for thinning and cleaning. Mixing ratio with water depends mainly on temperature, method of application, and surface condition.Approximately 10-15% of water are required for dilution.
• Application Temperature : 10-40?C
• Note : When recoating, a special attention should be given toward drying times.

Surface Preparation
Coating performance is, in general, proportional to the degree of surface preparation. Surface must be clean, level, and free of dust and other contaminants prior to coating.
Suitable to be applied directly on wooden and concrete surfaces.
It is recommended to apply Jupiter E5 on primed (WT01) or filled (WT02 or WT03) concrete substrates.
Jupiter E5 can be applied to existing coatings. The surface of the existing coating has to be cleaned and abraded. Be sure that Jupiter E5 adheres well to the existing coating prior to application to ensure good adhesion properties.
Drying Time
• Dry to Touch : 1 hour (ASTM-D1640).
• Dry to Handle : 4 hours “minimum recoat time” (ASTM-D1640).
Storing Conditions
• Jupiter E5 must not be allowed to come into contact with non treated metals that are likely to corrode. Containers must be kept tightly closed. Exposure to strong heat and frost must be avoided.
• Shelf life is two years from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed.
Safety:
• Avoid skin or eye contact. Prolonged contact may cause irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.
