Flat Emulsion
Description
A water emulsion acrylic coat.
Recommended Uses
Used directly or over primed and leveled interior and exterior concrete substrates.
Features
• Economical.
• Easy to apply and fast to dry.
• High filling, provides a smooth flat coat.
• Good adhesion properties and good resistance to washability.
• Resistant to the effects of ultra-violet light and weathering.
• No harmful vapors and scents are present (makes it easy to use and to apply in confined areas).
• Suitable to be topcoated by water-based or oil-based paints.
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Brush, roller or airless spray.
• Mixing : Stir well before application in order to ensure that a uniform consistency is achieved.
• Thinner / Cleaner : Water is used for thinning or cleaning. Mixing ratio with water depends on temperature, method of application and substrate porosity.
• Application Temperature : 10-40?C.
• Note : • When recoating, a special attention should be given toward drying times.

Surface Preparation
Coating performance is, in general, proportional to the degree of surface preparation. Surface must be clean, undamaged and free of oil, grease, and other contaminants prior to coating.
It is recommended to apply FLAT EMULSION on primed and / or filled surfaces.
Priming and / or filling: Prepare surface in accordance with application instructions for the suitable primer and / or filler being used (WT01 and WT03 “putty”). Be sure that all blow holes and defects are completely filled to produce a smooth, clean and level surface prior to applying FLAT EMULSION. When filling deep holes it is recommended to apply STOP200 (refer to its technical leaflet).
FLAT EMULSION can be applied to existing coatings. The surface of the existing coating has to be cleaned and abraded (especially when coating occurs over oil-based coatings). Be sure that FLAT EMULSION adheres well to the existing coating prior to application to ensure good adhesion properties.
Substrate Treatment
Drying Time
• Dry to Touch : 20 minutes (ASTM-D1640).
• Dry to Handle : 1 hour “minimum recoat time” (ASTM-D1640).
• Note : Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and coat thickness. Higher temperature will shorten the drying times.
Storing Conditions
• FLAT EMULSION must not be allowed to come into contact with metals that are likely to corrode. Containers must be kept tightly closed. Exposure to strong heat and frost must be avoided.
• Shelf life is two years from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed.
Safety:
Avoid skin or eye contact. Prolonged contact may cause irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.
