EPX 87
Description
A water-based epoxy paste consisting of three compounds A + B + C as a filler material.
Recommended Uses
• Used for filling cracks and gaps in old and new concrete surfaces, where it provides bonding between them and removes the contrast between them.
• It is also used to form a highly adhesive and waterproof insulation layer on these surfaces and on all construction work, especially on roofs, building facades, balconies, and basement surfaces exposed to continuous moisture.
• The treated surface acquires a hard, waterproof layer, making it suitable for use in water tanks, towers, warehouses, water storage facilities, swimming pools, water channels, and sewage facilities.
Features
• Fills cracks and gaps in concrete surfaces with strong adhesion and no shrinkage after hardening.
• Prevents water leakage, making it suitable for water storage facilities and protecting concrete surfaces exposed to permanent moisture.
• Adheres excellently to concrete, asbestos, and brick surfaces.
• Reinforced concrete elements are protected against corrosion, as it prevents the penetration of carbon oxides and chlorides into them.
Application Instruction
• Mixing Ratio : A 6 volumes - B 1 volume - C 2.6 weight for each volume
• Mixing Steps : : The two compounds (A) and (B) should be stirred separately, and then the entire contents of the (B) compound package should be emptied into the (A) compound package and mixed well using a slow automatic mixer (exclusively) for at least three minutes to achieve complete homogeneity (the use of a fast automatic mixer is prohibited). Then, the special filler material (compound C) should be slowly added to the mixture (A and B), and stirred slowly for at least three minutes to ensure complete mixing of all compounds. Do not mix more than the amount of materials intended for use during the mixture's shelf life, and if signs of a reaction appear, such as an increase in viscosity and the appearance of clots before use, the mixture must be destroyed and not used.

• Note : Warning: • Ensure good ventilation during application. • Avoid inhaling fumes. • Use a mask and avoid skin or eye contact with the material.
Surface Preparation
• The overall performance of the product depends on the surface preparation, which must be clean and free of oils, residues, and any types of impurities.
• Remove dust, bumps, and any scattered materials using a scraper, sandpaper, or a wire brush for best results.
• For applying EPX87, the surface should be damp but not wet.
• If thicknesses greater than 5 cm are required, gravel particles with a diameter not exceeding 10 mm and a weight percentage of up to 50% can be added. Make sure that the gravel particles are clean and well-sorted.
Drying Time
• Dry to Touch : 1 hour (ASTM-D)
• Dry to Handle : 6 hours (ASTM-D)
• Fully Cured : 7 days
• Note : Note: Drying time is affected by several factors such as aeration, layer thickness; and temperature, noting that higher temperatures lead to Decreased drying time.
Storing Conditions
• Generally, and especially the hardener, epoxy should be stored in a cool and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
• Shelf life: two years from the date of packaging provided that it is stored in its original tightly closed containers at temperatures ranging from 10 to 40 °C.
