| Two-component (A&B) acrylic polyurethane topcoat.
| | |
| As a finishing coat for protection of metal surfaces to give chemical, corrosion and abrasion resistance. Especially recommended to be applied over epoxy coating systems when high weather resistance is required. Typical uses are for structural steel, industrial environments, pipe and tank exteriors, chemical and waste treatment plants, etc….
| | |
| • High gloss aspect. • Excellent gloss and color retention. • Outstanding chemical and weather resistance. • Excellent abrasion and impact resistance. • Excellent durability in industrial and marine atmospheres. • Easy to clean.
| | |
| • Method of Application : | Airless, or conventional spray. | • Mixing Ratio : | (by volume)
Comp.A Comp.B Thinner (S605 “known as ST/AD”)
4 1 0.75*
*Note: Dilution by thinner S605 is recommended only if conventional spray application is used. No dilution is required for airless spray application. | • Mixing : | Stir well before application in order to ensure that a uniform consistency is achieved. Never mix more material than can be used within potlife. Material which has begun to set must be discarded. | • Pot life : | (20 °C) 2 hours (higher temperatures will shorten the potlife sharply) | • Cleaner : | Clean applying tools by thinner S507 “known as Acrysol”. | • Curing : | • When recoating, a special attention should be given toward drying times.
• The reaction between Hardtop components can not be guaranteed unless a temperature of at least 10°C is maintained for the mixture and the substrate until complete curing. Temperature of substrate should be at least 3°C above the dew point to avoid moisture condensation during application.
• Coated surfaces by Hardtop should not be exposed to water, chemicals, or mechanical stresses before it is fully cured.
| • Note : | Dilution by thinner S507 is recommended only if conventional spray application is used. No dilution is required for airless spray application. |
| | |
| • Component B : | HT drier | • Color : | White or against order. | • Gloss : | High gloss (ASTM-D523). | • Volume Solids : | 45 % (ASTM-D2697) | • Flexibility : | Excellent | • Solvent Splash and Spill Resistance : | Very good. | • Recommended film thickness : | 50 microns “dry”. | • Theoretical spreading rate : | 9 m²/L at 50 microns “dry”. | • Water resistance : | Excellent | • Abrasian Resistance : | Excellent | • Chemical Resistance : | Good | • Solvent Resistance : | Very good. | • Number of Coats : | 1-2 | • Specific Gravity (mixed) : | 1.20 kg/L (ASTM-D1475). | • Packaging : | Component A 3.6 L in metal can.
Component B 0.9 L in metal can.
|
| | |
| Coating performance is, in general, proportional to the degree of surface preparation. Surface must be clean, undamaged and free of oil, grease, and other contaminants prior to coating. STEEL: It is recommended to apply Hardtop coat over well-prepared substrates primed by “EPX02 white”
| | |
| • Dry to Touch : | 2 hours (ASTM-D1640). | • Dry to Handle : | 24 hours “minimum recoat time” (ASTM-D1640). | • Fully Cured : | 7 days | • Note : | Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and coat thickness. Higher temperatures will shorten the drying times. |
| | |
| • Hardtop has to be kept in a cool and well-ventilated place, protected from heat and direct sunlight. Hardtop is classified under highly flammable materials. • Shelf life is three years for component A and one year for component B from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed. Safety: • Well-ventilated conditions should be provided during application. • Do not breathe or inhale mist. • Wear air mask and avoid skin or eye contact.
