NCL Sealer
Description
One component nitrocellulose sealer.
Recommended Uses
Used mainly to penetrate and seal wooden substrates preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of wood. Especially recommended when fast drying is required
Features
• Fast drying which allows early and easy sanding and early recoating.
• Easy to apply, single component “no mixing required”.
• Excellent penetration and filling properties.
• Good flexibility.
• Excellent sandability.
• Suitable to be topcoated by almost all kinds of lacquers.
• Suitable to be applied over wooden surfaces colored by “Azmeh dyeing colors”.
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Conventional spray or putty knife.
• Mixing : Stir well before application in order to ensure that a uniform consistency is achieved.
• Thinner / Cleaner : S501 is used for thinning and cleaning. Mixing ratio with thinner depends mainly on temperature. At 20°C: Conventional spray will need approx. 7.5 litre S501 per 3.6 L NCL Sealer.
• Note : When recoating, a special attention should be taken toward drying times. Sanding is recommended in order to secure intercoat adhesion.
Technical Information
• Color : Transparent
• Volume Solids : 29 % (ASTM-D2697).
• Flexibility : Good
• Recommended film thickness : 50-100 microns “dry”
• Theoretical spreading rate : 5.8 m²/L at 50 microns “dry”.
• Specific gravity : 0.95 kg/L (ASTM D-1475)..
• Number of Coats : 2-3
• Packaging : 0.9 L in US Quart or 3.6 L in US Gallon.
Surface Preparation
Coating performance is, in general, proportional to the degree of surface preparation. Surface must be clean, undamaged and free of oil, grease, and other contaminants prior to coating.
NCL Sealer should directly be applied over well-prepared and sanded wooden surfaces, or over wooden surfaces colored by “WOOD STAIN” or "Nari".
Drying Time
• Dry to Touch : 10 minutes (ASTM-D1640).
• Dry to Handle : 30 minutes “minimum recoat time” (ASTM-D1640).
• Note : Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and coat thickness. Higher temperatures will shorten the drying times.
Storing Conditions
• NCL Sealer has to be kept in a cool and well-ventilated place, protected from heat and direct sunlight. NCL Sealer is classified under high flammable materials.
• Shelf life is 3 years from packing date in unopened original containers at 5 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed.
Safety:
• Well-ventilated conditions should be provided during application.
• Do not breathe or inhale mist.
• Wear air mask and avoid skin or eye contact.
