Features
• Short drying times.
• Excellent filling.
• Easy spreading and sanding.
• Excellent adhesion.
• Compatible with a wide range of primers and surfacers.
• Can be topcoated by almost all kinds of coatings.
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Suitable putty knife
• Cleaner : Clean applying tools by S501 or S502 thinner.
Technical Information
• Color : Gray, red
• Flexibility : Good
• Adhesion : Good
• Sandability : Excellent
• Recommended film thickness : 200 microns maximum “dry, after sanding”
• Number of Coats : several coats “allow to flash between coats”
• Packaging : 3.6 L or 0.9 L in metal can.
Substrate Treatment
• Suitable Substrates: AC Putty may directly be applied over primer (Wash Primer, SYN203, EPX02 “White”, AC surfacer, SRT Primer/Surfacer (AC2), OMEGAN primer/surfacer (2k), or Polyester putty (PE Putty). Be sure that surface is sanded and cleaned prior to applying AC putty.
• Surface Preparation:
Well-prepared-surfaces is an essential condition of coating successfulness. In general, surface must be clean, dry, undamaged and free of all contaminants prior to coating.
1. Remove grease, oil and other contaminants with thinner (S100 or S501), then wipe surfaces thoroughly with a clean dry cloth.
2. Fill the substrate with the putty.
3. Shape and sand filler using 180-240 and 320-400 grit treated sandpaper respectively.
4. Remove sanding residue using air pressure then clean by S100 or S501 thinner.
• Recoating: Fine sanded AC putty should be coated by a suitable primer or surfacer such as AC surfacer or SYN203 primer or NCL Primer/Surfacer or SRT Primer/Surfacer (AC2) or OMEGAN Primer/Surfacer (2k) .
Note: It is recommended to apply PE Putty (fine) instead of AC putty when finishing will be achieved by 2k-coatings “such as SRT Coat or SRT Clearcoat” at 60-80°C inside spraying booths.
Drying Time
• Dry to Touch : 10 minutes
• Dry to Handle : 30 minutes
• Dry to Sand : 2 hours “minimum recoat time”
• Note : Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and coat thickness. Higher temperatures will shorten the drying times.
Storing Conditions
• AC putty is classified under high flammable materials. Containers must be kept tightly closed in a cool and well-ventilated place, protected from heat and direct sunlight.
• Shelf life is three years from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C.
Safety:
• Well-ventilated conditions should be provided during application.
• Do not breathe or inhale mist
• Wear air-mask and avoid skin or eye contact.
