| WT01 is a water emulsion acrylic primer. | | |
| As a primer / sealer for exterior and interior use on dry, porous, untreated old and new concrete surfaces. It gives a high quality surface ideal for coating. | | |
| • Penetrates and seals deeply concrete surfaces and improve negative pressure insulation properties. • Excellent adhesion on concrete surfaces. • Excellent flexibility. • Short drying times, reducing overcoating times considerably. • Suitable to be applied to all porous substrates such as concrete, brick, plasterboard, and cement panels. • No harmful vapors and scents are present (makes it easy to use and to apply in confined areas). • Suitable as primer for all decorative paints (water-based or oil-based paints) and also for roof coating (WT16).

| • Method of Application : | Brush or conventional spray. | • Mixing : | Stir well before application in order to ensure that a uniform consistency
is achieved.
| • Thinner / Cleaner : | Water is used for thinning or cleaning.
Brush or conventional spray will need approx. 16 4% by volume water
to reach 25 seconds by cup No. 4.
| • Application Temperature : | 10-40?C. |
| | |
| • Volume Solids : | 58 % (ASTM-D2697) | • VOC : | 0.5 g/L (ASTM-D3960) | • Flexibility : | Excellent. | • Adhesion : | Excellent. | • Recommended film thickness : | 25 microns “dry”. | • Theoretical spreading rate : | 23.2 m²/L at 25 microns “dry” | • Specific gravity : | 1.2 kg/L (ASTM-D1475) | • Water resistance : | Excellent. | • Number of Coats : | 1-2 “depends on surface porosity” | • Packaging : | 3.6L in metal can or 20 Kg in plastic pail |
| | |
| Coating performance is, in general, proportional to the degree of surface preparation. Surface must be clean, dry or damp but not wet and free of oil, grease and other contaminants prior to coating. - Porous Substrates: Remove protrusions by mechanical blasting, and then remove dust by air spray. - New concrete: Must be cured at least 14 days at 20?C and 70% RH, or equivalent time. - Old concrete: Remove fins, protrusions, dirt and other loose material with a scraper, sandpaper, wire brush or paint remover (in case of presence of flecks of old paint); Then clean the surface by water and allow to dry.
| | |
| • Dry to Touch : | 20 minutes (ASTM-D1640). | • Dry to Handle : | 1 hour “minimum recoat time” (ASTM-D1640). | • Note : | Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and coat thickness. Higher temperature will shorten the drying times. |
| | |
| • WT01 must not be allowed to come into contact with non-treated metals that are likely to corrode. Containers must be kept tightly closed. Exposure to strong heat and frost must be avoided. • Shelf life is two years from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed. Safety: Avoid skin or eye contact. Prolonged contact may cause irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.
