PROTECT 2000R
Description
Water-repellent based on siloxane-emulsion used for the protection of building facades.
Recommended Uses
A water repellent material used on exterior building surfaces such as mineral based natural and artificial stone, brickwork, sand lime brickwork, plaster, cement, concrete, aerated concrete, and mineral paints. It protects building facades from rain, weathering, dust and dirt pick-up.
Features
-High quality water-repellent material.

-Does not affect substrate color, especially recommended for limestone.

-Good penetration into substrates.

-Excellent diffusion of water vapor and carbon dioxide from the substrate, which extends the expected life time of the building and reduces heating costs.

-Prevent penetration of water and rainwater into the surface.

-Excellent weather protection of exterior building surfaces.

-Good freeze-thaw resistance due to its low water absorption.

-Excellent resistance to dust and dirt pick-up.

-Reduces water absorption.

-Water based material, no harmful vapors and scents are present.
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Roller, a low-pressure spraying instrument, or by sponge.
• Thinner / Cleaner : Do not thin. Clean applying tools with water.
• Application Temperature : 5-30?C
• Note : When topcoating, a special attention should be taken toward drying times.
Technical Information
• Color : Transparent “after drying”
• Theoretical spreading rate : 3 to 6 m²/L “depends on surface porosity”
• Water resistance : Excellent
• Number of Coats : 1-2 “wet on wet, depends on surface porosity”
• Packaging : 4 L in plastic container
Surface Preparation
Coating performance is, in general, proportional to the degree of surface preparation. Surface must be clean, undamaged and free of oil, grease, and other contaminants prior to coating.

Brush off any loose material. Sanding can also be used to remove any dirty surfaces. Water jet is then used as the end step of substrate cleaning.

Note: Avoid the use of acidic or alkaline chemical detergents and cationic surfactants. If detergents are used for cleaning, it is necessary to rinse well the cleaned surface by water in order to remove any detergent residue.

-Do not apply Protect2000R under direct sun light or rain. Wait at least 24 hours after rain or water cleaning.

-Be sure that coated surfaces by Protect 2000R are not exposed to water and rain for at least 5 hours.
Drying Time
• Note : Depends on surface porosity (complete drying occurs when the substrate takes again its original shape). Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and coat thickness. Higher temperatures will shorten the drying times.
Storing Conditions
-Protect 2000R has to be kept in a cool and well-ventilated place, protected from heat and direct sunlight.

-Shelf life is one year from packing date in unopened original containers at 5 30°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed.
