WT11
Description
WT11 are water emulsion acrylic-based Textured coatings.
Recommended Uses
Textured coatings are used as a highly decorative interior and/or exterior coating on concrete, cement, lightweight concrete, cement board, and gypsum board,…etc. Typical uses are in all types of residential and commercial buildings as a low cost alternative to finishing materials such as stone and brickwork.
Features
• Highly resistant to the effects of ultra-violet light and weathering.
• Excellent adhesion to concrete substrates.
• Suitable to be applied in different textures.
• Ideal for covering minor defects and irregularities in the substrate.
• Excellent resistance to dust and dirt, surfaces easily and rapidly cleaned.
• Prevent water leakage; it keeps building structures with a low level of moisture and better insulation.
• Economical, easy to apply and low cost maintenance.
• Short drying times, reducing overcoating times considerably.
• No harmful vapors and scents are present (makes it easy to use and to apply in confined areas).
• Protect 2000R can be applied on top of Textured Coatings in order to provide an outstanding protection against rain, dust and dirt pick up. In addition it preserves the breathing property of the substrate such as allowing the diffusion of water vapor and carbon dioxide from the substrate.
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Roller or with a special spray instrument.
• Mixing : Stir well before application in order to ensure that a uniform consistency is achieved.
• Thinner / Cleaner : In general, there is no need to dilute, but if required 10% max by volume of water is added when application occurs by roller. Clean applying tools immediately after application is completed by water.
• Application Temperature : 10-40?C.
• Note : When recoating, a special attention should be given toward drying times.
Technical Information
• Color : White or upon request using tinting machine
• Volume Solids : 55,2 % (ASTM-D2697)
• VOC : 8 g/L (ASTM-D3960)
• Flexibility : Very good
• Adhesion : Good.
• Recommended film thickness : 250-1000 microns “dry”.
• Theoretical spreading rate : 2.2 m²/L at 250 microns “dry”
• Specific gravity : 1.60 kg/L (ASTM-D1475)
• Water resistance : Excellent.
• Number of Coats : 1-2
• Packaging : 25 Kg in plastic pail
Surface Preparation
Coating performance is, in general, proportional to the degree of surface preparation. Surface must be clean, undamaged and free of oil, grease, and other contaminants prior to coating.
It is recommended to apply Textured Coatings on primed surfaces.
Priming: Prepare surface in accordance with application instructions for the suitable primer being used WT01 or WT05 undercoat. The primer and undercoat should be left to achieve a tack free condition prior to applying Textured Coatings. Be sure primer and undercoat are clean, dry, and free of oil grease and other contaminants when Textured Coatings is applied.
Filling & Leveling: Fill and level surface imperfections using a suitable filler/putty such as WT03 or STOP200.
Do not apply Textured Coatings on existing coating (oil-based or water-based) without further surface preparation such as cleaning, abrading, leveling and priming the surface.
Note:
Protect2000 R can be applied over Textured Coatings to provide ultra-protection from dirt pick up and rain water.
Drying Time
• Dry to Touch : 30 minutes (ASTM-D1640).
• Dry to Handle : 2 hours “minimum recoat time” (ASTM-D1640).
• Note : Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and coat thickness. Higher temperatures will shorten the drying times.
Storing Conditions
• Textured Coatings must not be allowed to be stored in untreated metals that are likely to corrode. Containers must be kept tightly closed. Exposure to strong heat and frost must be avoided.
• Shelf life is two years from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed.
Safety:
Avoid skin or eye contact. Prolonged contact may cause irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.
